Rocky Horror Show Regent Theatre 2025

Rocky Horror Show has been seen by over 30 million people and continues to entertain audiences on its sell out international tour. We were invited along to experience The Rocky Horror show arriving at Stoke on Trent’s Regent Theatre. Here is our review of Richard O’Brien’s Rocky Horror Show.

The Rocky Horror Show, at the Regent, Hanley

I mean… I have danced many a dance to the time warp… I mean who hasn’t? But that’s where my knowledge of the Rocky Horror Show ended. I had no idea what the show was about or what to expect.

So this is where I introduce Brad and his fiancée Janet, who are childhood sweethearts and what you call ‘squeaky clean college kids. By a twist of fate, their car breaks down outside a creepy mansion, whilst on their way to visit their former college professor, they meet the charismatic Dr Frank-n-Furter. It proves to be an adventure they’ll never forget. Rocky Horror is a world where horror and sci-fi merge filled with fun, frocks, corsets and frivolity… you won’t want to miss it.

The Rocky Horror is not for the faint hearted. It is an extraordinary production, with sexiness, energy and slight creepiness all wrapped up together. The narrator (Jackie Clune) is perfect for the role, with a dry sense of humour and witty one lines that were perfectly executed. Frank N Furter played perfectly by Adam Strong had an incredible vocal, and a powerful and seductive, charisma on stage that entertained the audience throughout. Brad (Connor Carson) and Janet (Lauren Chia) were perfectly cast, with a wonderful innocence and incredible vocals.

The band deserve a mention as they were just incredible, The choreography was tight, the transitions seamless, and the costume and make up was on point.

How long is it running for in Stoke-on-Trent?

The show opens on Monday 5th May and runs until Saturday 10th May 2025 with shows at 8pm each day, with shows at 17:30 and 20:30 on Friday and Saturday

What age is the Rocky Horror Show suitable for?

Age guidance: 12+ and the show contains lots of scenes of an adult nature. I would actually recommend older than 12 for attending the show.

Rocky Horror final thoughts

All in all it was a really enjoyable night, the theatre was full of energy, the cast were incredible and the audience were joining in with a jump to the left.

The show is everything you would expect under the direction of Christopher Luscombe. It was polished, energetic, sassy and well…very naughty.
