Staffordshire offers plenty of dog-friendly pubs, restaurants, and cafés where you can enjoy a meal or drink and take along your canine companion with you. There is nothing better than a Sunday dog walk in the Staffordshire countryside and ending the day with a toasty fire, hot drink, and a heart family meal in the pub.

Here are a few tried and tested dog friendly pub and restaurants in Staffordshire for you to try.

1. Willow Trentham at Trentham Gardens

If you visit Trentham Gardens for the day, then a walk around the gardens and a wander around the shopping village is a must.

Willow is located in the Trentham Estate and is the perfect place to stop for a bite to eat. Part of the Paragon Group, this venue offers a great menu including breakfast/brunch, main meals and a Sunday lunch menu. There is also a great kids menu. Willow has a doggie menu and has beds for dogs while you enjoy your food and drink.

Four-pawed friends aside, the food really is great here and Willow is easily one of the best restaurants in Staffordshire.

2. The Fitzherbert Arms, Nr Stone, Swynnerton

The Fitzherbert Arms welcomes dogs with open arms. The Fitzherbert has a great choice of menu including the usual suspects, steak and ale pie, fish and chips, Sunday dinner etc. Dogs are welcome to be in the lower bar area of the pub, the snug, garden and terrace. There are dog biscuits on the bar that you can help yourself.

3. The Sneyd Arms, Keele

The Sneyd Arms is situated in Keele, and offers a lovely end to a great dog walk around Keele Woods. Dogs are allowed in bar and in the snug and again there are free dog treats on the bar, and dog bowls for a little drink. 4. Capello Lounge, Newcastle-under-Lyme

Capello Lounge, located in the heart of Newcastle-under-Lyme, is a welcoming and relaxed spot that’s perfect for dog owners and their four-legged friends. This dog-friendly lounge goes above and beyond to make pups feel at home, with water bowls and plenty of fuss from the friendly staff.

It’s not just the dogs who are well looked after; there’s a delicious menu featuring everything from tapas and burgers to flatbreads and indulgent cakes. There are also plenty of options for kids, as well as gluten-free and vegan dishes. With comfy sofas inside and a hidden courtyard out the back, it’s a great place to unwind with your dog by your side.

5. The Cake Shack, Whitmore Lakes

The Cake Shack opened in 2022 and is situated at Whitmore Lakes Here you will find plenty of homemade options including sandwiches, toasted sandwiches, burgers, and salads and the most incredible selection of cakes, all homebaked!!

Dogs are welcome (please do keep on a lead) and therefore its a perfect place to stop and enjoy a bite to eat with the family.

6. The Dog and Doublet Inn, Sandon

The Dog and Doublet is a wonderfully dog-friendly inn that not only welcomes pups into its bar area but also offers dog-friendly accommodation; perfect for a Staffordshire getaway with your four-legged companion. For £15 per dog, per stay (dogs must be at least one year old), your pup will be treated to a comfy dog bed, tasty treats, a water bowl, and a food bowl, making them feel right at home.

While dogs aren’t permitted in the restaurant, they’re more than welcome in the cosy bar area, so you can relax with a drink after a scenic walk in the Staffordshire countryside. It’s an ideal spot for dog owners looking for a warm, welcoming base to explore the area.

7. KPA Keele

KPA (Keele Postgraduate Association) is a great place to visit after a lovely dog walk at Keele Woods. KPA welcomes dogs and are well equipped with dog bowls, dog treats and offer lots of fuss to our fur babies. There is a great choice of food including gluten free and vegan.

8. The Blockhouse, Baldwins Gate

There are plenty of lovely dog walks around Whitmore and Baldwin Gate Village that are dog friendly, Ba followed by a drink at the Blockhouse. Park of the Paragon Group (this includes dog friendly Willow that I mentioned earlier). The Blockhouse allows dogs into the bar area. perfect for a coffee or a cheeky glass of wine on a cold wintery afternoon.

9. The Crepe and Waffle House, Trentham

Fancy a sweet treat after a walk around Trentham Lake? Then definitely visit the Crepe and Waffle House at Trentham Estate. There are so many options including savoury and sweet, and the milkshakes are amazing (the milkshakes are insane). There are children options too – oh and dogs are, of course, welcome and can request a puppuccino if they fancy it!
