Farmarama- The National Forest Adventure Farm review

From the 19th July 2025 to the 1st September 2025, The National Forest Adventure Farm is bringing the ultimate Summer Beach Bonanza to Burton upon Trent.

If you are looking for a beach less than an hour from Staffordshire, then look no further. The National Forest Adventure Farm has 5 giant paddling pools and over 250 tonnes of soft golden sand. There is also amazing shows, a fabulous foam party and of course, there huge maize maze, along with all the other fantastic activities including bouncy pillows, an adventure playpark, indoor soft play, the animal barn & paddocks tractor & barrel rides.

In all honesty a day is just not enough and you will struggle to get around to everything in a day. But the team at the National Forest Adventure Farm are one step ahead, and know that you will want to come back, and are therefore offering DOUBLE the fun for visits dated between 19th July and 9th August that qualify for a free return pass to be used before the end of the Summer (1st September 2025). See website for more information.

National Forest Adventure Farm – things to do

There is so much to see and do here – we honestly absolutely loved our day out and the kids are still talking about it now. The sun was shining and we did spend quite a lot of time at the beach and paddling pools which was absolutely perfect on a hot Summer day! There is so much more to see and do here though – the kids will LOVE IT.

Here’s a summary of all of the awesome things to do at the National Forest Adventure Farm;

An indoor soft play area featuring drop slides, ball pits and indoor inflatables.

Outdoor adventure zones with go karts, jumping pillows, adventure playground, secret garden adventure golf, musical maze, Jurassic Canyon Fossil Dig & Sand Play, JCB digger zone.

Mega slide mountain – UK’s longest outdoor tubing slide (*additional cost)

Animal barn and paddocks where you can meet rabbits, guinea pigs, pigs, cows goats, Shetland ponies, donkeys, chickens, and ducks. The animals look to be beautifully looked after and happy.

Tractor & trailer ride, and  the bumpy barrel stampede ride

For the Summer Event – Farmarama, the events field is filled with a lovely beach, beach snack bars, beach crafts, and awesome paddling pools.

Maize maze

Food/restaurant – There is plenty of food on offer with menus designed for all to include vegetarian, vegan and halal dishes as well as GF options. Suppliers are local where possible sitting within a 20 mile radius of the farm which I love.

Good to know!

  • There is something for everyone at the National Forest Adventure Farm but I would say that it is more suitable for families with children aged 2 – 12.
  • Over the Summer don’t forget to pack swimwear, towels and a change of clothes. We took flip flops too and a little sand free beach towel to sit at the beach. There are little changing huts for families to get changed and you can purchase any items that you forget including goggles, water toys etc at the little beach shop. There are plenty of outdoor activities so don’t forget to wear comfortable footwear.
  • Parking at the National Forest Adventure Farm is free, and there is a large carpark with plenty of spaces available.
  • We left our dogs at home for this adventure – as no dogs are allowed at the National Forest Adventure Farm (except assistance dogs).
  • Remember to pack a picnic! There are so many lovely picnic spots dotted around the farm, with picnic benches everywhere. If you forget to bring food don’t worry there are plenty of places to purchase hot and cold food and snacks, including a little beach snack bar and a restaurant too.
  • Take a picture of the events , animal handling times and shows as you enter the farm to make sure you don’t miss out on anything.
  • If you book a visit for Farmarama dated between 19th July and 9th August, you qualify for a free return pass to be used before the end of the Summer (1st September 2025).
  • The farm is a cashless site – its card payment only.
  • Book your tickets in advance to save money as the tickets are slightly cheaper online than on the door.

The National Forest Adventure Farm review – final thoughts

The National Forest Adventure Farm is a brilliant day out for kids. There is plenty to see and do and their seasonal events are always incredible – Farmarama didn’t disappoint!

I love that the team have bought the beach and paddling pools to Staffordshire this Summer, and in the beautiful weather it wasn’t too busy and the activities were well supervised. There is plenty to do if the weather is not playing ball, with the animal barn undercover and the indoor play area.

Pack a picnic, swim wear and head to the National Forest Adventure Farm for the ultimate summer fun. We always return to the farm – it is a great day out for all the family.
